Character Paragraph TWTWB

A key moment for Ellie, in Tomorrow When The War Began, is when she blows up the lawnmower. It is important for her as a character because it is the first time she has ever killed someone which results in trauma. In chapter seven, Ellie and two of her friends are hiding from invaders. At this moment she is scared that her and her friends are going to get caught. Ellie thinks quickly to develop a plan to protect her friends and escape from the soldiers by using the lawnmower as a bomb by putting a rag in the gas tank and lighting it. This moment shows the reader that Ellie is brave, smart, capable of leadership. A quote that shows Ellie’s courage is on page ninety “for the first time I saw their faces and struck the match”. This shows that Eille’s action saved their lives in a life and death situation. This is a moment that stays with Eillie fora long time.

Q.3 Two of them died because of the lawnmower incident, this made Ellie feel guilty and upset.

Q.4 To make it humid and clean so they can take over the land and use it as their own.

Q.5 They had more modern guns and walked in a smaller group than what the other soldiers did.

Q.6 Getting ideas and sneaking around, hiding in the shadows and thinking a lot more strictly.

Q.7 She couldn't really see Fi killing or harming anyone around them, she thought she was too kind and fragile to.

Q.8 Risking your own life for a friends and going into Wirrwee to get more resources.

Q.9 The tanker had no brakes and there was a patrol walking to them so they had to act quickly, climbing up a tree, they pressed the gas petal slowly and not that fast to make it go slow so they could turn it and stop it under the bridge, if they scraped the tanker from under the bridge it could have exploded.

Essay

The world war started in 1914 and ended in 1918, this was four years of fighting over the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the person who killed him was a part of an army that killed him was in a different country therefore the world war started, and the cause of medical transport and why it’s required. Medical Transport has changed over the years.

The Medical Transport ranges to mules with baskets on the side to planes and helicopters, the first world war’s medical vehicles were not vehicles, they were animals including: mules, donkeys, camels and horses with carriages, these are only a few of the animals had been used. Most Medical Transport Animals died because of Axis Powers when they tried to Transport them or going towards the injured Allies, about 240,023 of them died by stepping on landmines, getting shot or becoming too old to work for the medical transport anymore.

In, the second World War people used helicopters and planes instead of animals (keep in mind they still used some like dogs and cats to find mines and homing pigeons to send notes) the helicopters would hover over the bodies of the wounded and sent another person down to pick them up and put them in a stretcher and flew away back to the hospital where they dropped them off. The medical planes were flown over the land to look for the body’s of fallen soldiers or the injured were collected by medical transport.

This shows that World War Medical Transport has changed over the years. It’s good that they changed from using animals to vehicles so that fewer animals have to risk their lives for something stupid that should have never happened.
